Chairman and Chief Executive

James McKellar

James McKellar

The Chairman and Chief Executive of Stretford is James McKellar. James had a very successful 25 year career in the City of London investment banking business, most recently as a managing director and co-head of the Barclays Capital Power, Utility and Infrastructure team.

James decided to leave Barclays in the summer of 2013 to concentrate on running Stretford and a number of other key/strategic renewable energy based investments, support and patronage of the arts and supporting early stage companies through Angel Investing.

Many of the companies being supported have young and enthusiastic management and market changing or market disruptive business plans.

One of the key areas of arts support and promotion for us is acting as a sponsor and patron of the renowned Irish sculptor Rowan Gillespie with a focus on supporting his sculptures and charity work related to the people who have left the UK and Ireland in search of better lives elsewhere including America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
